To integrate Google Tag Manager with your Webflow project, follow these steps to streamline your website's tracking processes effectively:
Step 1: Create a Google Tag Manager Account
- Visit the Google Tag Manager website.
- Click "Sign Up for Free" if you do not have an account.
- Fill in the required details, including your account name and container name (use your website's name for the container).
- Choose "Web" as the target platform.
- Click "Create" and accept the terms of service.
Step 2: Obtain the GTM Tracking Code
- After setting up your account and container, you'll see setup instructions with two snippets of code labeled "Head" and "Body," essential for integration.
Step 3: Add the GTM Code to Your Webflow Project
- Log in to Webflow and open your project.
- Go to "Project Settings" by clicking the gear icon in your project overview.
- Navigate to the "Custom Code" tab.
- In the "Head Code" section, paste the first GTM snippet.
- In the "Before Body Tag" section, paste the second snippet.
- Click "Save Changes."
Step 4: Publish Your Webflow Project
- With changes saved, publish your project to make the GTM code live.
- Click "Publish" in the upper right corner of the dashboard.
- Select your domain and click "Publish" again.
