How to Use Webflow Forms for Surveys

November 12, 2024

Step 1: Log into your Webflow account and select the project where you want to add the survey form. Click on the project to open the Designer view.

Step 2: Decide whether to create a new page or use an existing one. To create a new page, click on "Add Page" in the Pages panel and name it appropriately. If you choose an existing page, simply navigate to it.

Step 3: In Designer view, open the Elements panel and find the Form option. Drag and drop the Form Block to the desired location on the page.

Step 4: Customize your form fields by adding different elements from the Add Element panel:

- Use the Text Field for open-ended questions
- Add Radio Button elements for single-choice questions
- Insert Checkbox elements for multiple-choice questions
- Use the Dropdown element to provide a list of options
- Choose the Text Area element for longer responses

After adding elements, adjust their settings by clicking on them and using the Settings panel to label questions, set input types, add placeholder text, and mark questions as required.

Step 5: Style your form to match your website’s design. Use the Style panel to customize fonts, colors, spacing, and other visual elements. Adjust form field styles like borders, background color, and typography, as well as padding and margin for the overall layout.

Step 6: Set up form submission settings in the Form Settings of the Settings panel. Specify where form responses will be sent, whether that is the project’s email address by default or through third-party services like Zapier or Google Sheets for advanced data handling.

Step 7: Add a success message by customizing the text in the Success Message section of the Settings panel. Use a simple message like "Thank you for your feedback" to confirm submission.

Step 8: Test your form by entering Preview mode and filling it out with dummy data. Submit the form and check your email or third-party integration to ensure submissions are tracked properly.

Step 9: Publish your site by clicking the "Publish" button in Designer view. Your survey form is now live and users can start providing feedback.

Step 10: Analyze the results from submitted forms. For Webflow’s email feature, check your inbox for responses. If using third-party integrations, access those platforms to review data and insights.

By following these steps, you can effectively create and utilize a survey form in Webflow to gather valuable feedback from your audience. Keep refining your survey based on responses to ensure you are asking relevant questions for meaningful insights.
