To set up 301 redirects in Webflow, follow these clear and straightforward steps to enhance your website's SEO and ensure a smooth user experience.
Step 1: Log in to Your Webflow Account
Log into your Webflow account. Once logged in, you'll be on your project dashboard where you can manage your site.
Step 2: Access the Project Settings
Find your project on the list and click to open it. In the project overview, click on Project Settings in the upper-right corner.
Step 3: Navigate to the SEO Tab
In the Project Settings, click on the SEO tab at the top. This section is where you'll manage redirects.
Step 4: Scroll to the 301 Redirects Section
Scroll down to find the 301 Redirects section, which is specifically for managing URL redirects.
Step 5: Add a New Redirect
To create a new 301 redirect, enter the old URL path in the Redirect from field. Use only the path after the domain, such as /old-page. In the Redirect to field, enter the new URL path where you want users directed, like /new-page.
Step 6: Save the Redirect
Click on Add Redirect to save your changes. You'll receive confirmation that the redirect has been added.
Step 7: Repeat as Necessary
For additional redirects, repeat the process, adding all necessary redirects to correct URLs.
Step 8: Test Your Redirects
Open a new browser window and test the old URLs to ensure they correctly redirect to the new URLs you've specified.
Step 9: Publish Your Changes
To apply changes on your live site, publish your project by clicking the Publish button in your project settings.
Step 10: Monitor Your Redirects
Use tools like Google Analytics to monitor traffic and ensure your redirects are effectively leading users to the correct pages, making adjustments as needed.
