How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Webflow Enterprise Teams

March 22, 2024

Log into your Webflow account by visiting the Webflow website and clicking on the Log In button at the top right corner. Enter your email address and password to access your account, ensuring you have permission to change security settings.

Access Account Settings by clicking on your profile icon at the top right corner of the dashboard to reveal a dropdown menu. Select Account Settings from the menu, which will take you to a page where you can manage various settings related to your account.

Navigate to Security Settings by finding the Security tab in the menu on the left side of the screen on the Account Settings page. Clicking on this option will bring you to the security settings configuration page.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication by locating the option labeled Two-Factor Authentication in the Security Settings section. Use the toggle switch or checkbox to enable this option. Once selected, you will be prompted to set up your preferred two-factor authentication method.

Choose Your Authentication Method, which could be an authentication app like Google Authenticator or Authy, or SMS codes. If using an app, scan the QR code displayed on Webflow with the app on your smartphone. The app will then generate a 6-digit code. If opting for SMS, enter your mobile number to receive a verification code, which you will need to input back into Webflow.

After enabling two-factor authentication, you will receive a set of Backup Codes from Webflow. These codes allow access to your account if you lose your authentication device. Write down these codes and store them safely, avoiding sharing them with anyone.

Confirm Your Setup by logging out of Webflow and logging back in. This process will prompt you to enter your username and password, followed by the 6-digit code generated by your authentication app or received via SMS.

Educate Your Team Members by informing them of the security policy regarding two-factor authentication. Encourage team members within Webflow Enterprise to enable 2FA, ensuring the security of the entire team. Providing a brief tutorial similar to this guide may be beneficial.

Regularly Review Security Settings as a part of ongoing digital security efforts. Make it a practice to update passwords and review security settings periodically. Encourage your team to stay informed about any changes in Webflow’s security policies or updates in best practices for online safety.

By following these steps, you can successfully enable two-factor authentication, adding an extra layer of security to your Webflow Enterprise Team online projects, protecting both the team and its valuable work.
