How to Enable Custom Shipping Rules in Webflow

May 29, 2024

Log into your Webflow account and select your online store project from the dashboard. Once in your project, look for the “E-commerce” option in the left sidebar and click on it to access the online store settings.

Within the E-commerce settings, find the “Shipping” tab and click on it. This section is where you can set up and manage shipping methods and rules. To create custom shipping rules, add a new shipping method by clicking on the “Add Shipping Method” button. A window will pop up allowing you to configure your shipping options.

Choose a shipping method type such as “Flat Rate” or “Free Shipping” based on your needs. For example, if you want to charge a set fee per order, choose “Flat Rate.” Once you've selected a shipping method type, configure the rates by entering the desired shipping cost that will apply to this method. If you want different rates based on conditions like order weight or size, you can input those details in the relevant fields.

If offering varying rates based on specific criteria, set up conditions here. For instance, you can create a condition for free shipping on orders over a certain amount by defining that rule in this step.

Shipping zones determine where your shipping methods apply. Create zones based on geographic locations by clicking “Add Shipping Zone” and naming your zone. Then, select which countries or regions are included in this zone.

After defining your shipping zones, connect your shipping methods to them. For each zone, choose the applicable shipping methods you configured earlier. This allows you to control available methods for customers based on location.

Review all your settings to ensure rates, conditions, and zones align with your shipping strategy. After verifying, save your changes to apply them.

Finally, test your setup by creating a test order in your store. This ensures shipping options and rates appear as expected, providing customers with a smooth shopping experience. Keeping these settings updated as your business evolves helps continuously optimize your e-commerce operations.
